Public IP & Network Test
VPN56 routes domestic traffic directly and sends international traffic over international routes, based on app-specific rules. This page shows the route used by your browser to reach our endpoint; other apps may use a different route.
Current session results
Data from our GeoIP endpoint; reflects this request only.
- Public IP address
- Temporarily unavailable
- Country or region
- Temporarily unavailable
- Internet service provider (ISP)
- Temporarily unavailable
- Proxy detected?
- Temporarily unavailable
The check runs automatically when JavaScript is enabled. You can also select “Run test again.”
Run the check again after switching routes or changing split-tunneling rules. Location and proxy labels come from the lookup service and may be delayed or misclassified.
Understanding the results
What these results mean
First check where the request is routed, then see whether that matches your split-tunneling rules. No single field can replace testing the app itself.
- Public IP: the address our site sees
- This is usually your network’s public IP, or the IP used after your browser takes an international route. If your split-tunneling rules send requests to our endpoint directly, this page may show your local network’s IP even when other apps use international routes. That doesn’t mean those apps can’t connect.
- Country or region: an estimate based on IP databases
- An IP location isn’t your device’s precise location, and it may not match the region in a route name. Address allocation, database updates, and route configuration can all affect what you see. If the location looks unexpected, check the active route in your client and test access in the app you’re using.
- ISP: registration details for the outgoing network
- The ISP field may show a home broadband provider, cloud provider, or data center network. It identifies the network associated with the outgoing IP; it may not be your current internet provider. The name alone doesn’t indicate connection speed or encryption status.
- Proxy detection: a classification, not a security verdict
- “Proxy detected” means the lookup service has classified this IP as a proxy. “No proxy detected” doesn’t prove that traffic is routed directly. If the service can’t make a clear determination, this page shows “Temporarily unavailable” rather than treating missing data as a negative result. This label can’t confirm whether high-grade encryption is enabled.
Check for DNS leaks
Check the DNS resolution path
This page checks your public IP; it doesn’t run a DNS leak test. A regular web request can’t list every DNS resolver your device uses.
Confirm how DNS should be resolved
Review your client’s DNS and split-tunneling settings to see which routes should resolve domestic and international domains. Resolving domestic websites locally may be expected; a local resolver alone doesn’t indicate a leak. Check whether requests that should use an international route are unexpectedly being sent through your local network.
Compare browser and system settings
Check your browser’s Secure DNS settings, any custom system DNS settings, and whether other network tools are also handling DNS. Browsers may use their own DNS settings, so it’s not unusual for command-line and browser results to differ. Change one setting at a time and keep a record of the original so you can verify the change and revert it if needed.
Check the client’s logs
If your client provides connection logs or DNS diagnostics, open the target app and check the matching domain’s rule, route, and resolution path. Test the app you actually use, not just this page. Avoid changing routes, DNS settings, and app rules at the same time, or it will be hard to identify what caused a difference.
Gather diagnostic details if the issue persists
Note your operating system, client status, current route, affected app, and any error message, then send them through a support ticket in the user panel. Before sharing screenshots, hide account details, subscription information, and unrelated browsing activity. Never send your password or subscription URL.
Query privacy
Queries aren’t logged
Checks are performed through our endpoint. We don’t log queries or save results to your browser’s local storage. The copy button writes your current public IP to the clipboard only when clicked.
If the endpoint is unavailable, this page will show “Temporarily unavailable” rather than switching to a third-party public API. IP information can reveal details about your network, so hide anything you don’t want to share before posting a screenshot. See our Privacy Policy for details.
